About Safeguest

Built because someone had to answer the door.

Safeguest was founded by people who have managed short-term rentals themselves, seen the cost of poor guest screening up close, and decided the industry needed something more intelligent, more preventative, and rather less clunky. Designed by operators, not invented in a boardroom.

The founding story

Lived experience, not theory.

Safeguest came from operating short-term rentals, not pitching about them. The founders had firsthand exposure to the reality of guest damage, identity fraud, weak screening, and the daily frustration of stitching together OTAs, spreadsheets, and fragmented tools to manage what is, in the end, real risk.

Most guests are excellent. The small number who are not can be painfully expensive — and the cost rarely lands at the booking platform's door. So Safeguest was built around a simple philosophy: verify first, brief properly, and protect where needed.

“Safeguest was built after seeing how much faith this industry places in crossed fingers, platform logos, and the hope that this booking will be one of the normal ones.”

Why we built it

Three reasons, stated plainly.

01

Because “trust the booking platform” is not a risk strategy.

OTAs are good at filling calendars, less good at telling you who's coming through your front door.

02

Because one bad stay can wipe out a lot of good ones.

The maths of short-term rental damage is unforgiving. Prevention is cheaper, calmer, and far less awkward than cure.

03

Because verification should feel like good housekeeping, not airport security.

Guests want to arrive, not be processed. The flow should be quick, considered, and quietly thorough.
